Technology Proposal: Enhance Learning for All Students

Technology. We all know it, but we're in an ongoing process of getting to really know it. Teachers that use technology in the classroom know that it has tremendous potential to enhance learning for all of our students but also know that teaching and learning with technology effectively is not done with a simple flick of a wand or a snap of the fingers.

Going through the process of creating a technology proposal has been a necessary learning experience in ensuring technology is being implemented with intention. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness this requires is a skill that will be transferable to other areas of my practice and will be helpful in my future job hunt.

Overall, the journey of drafting and presenting a technology proposal has been a positive one. I appreciate that it has made me think both large-scale and zoom in closely to the details. For instance, this project has allowed me to practice a part of my job that I love: educational research and curricular planning on a school-wide level. It has also challenged me to practice logistic/administrative skills, such as budgeting and launching initiatives.

I look forward to tracking the implementation of IXL at our school, and I feel optimistic about the benefits it will bring to our students if done effectively. As with any new initiative, I am sure we will run into a couple hurdles, but I look forward to working through them with a solution-oriented mindset.

At the end of the day, I prioritize students' academic, social, and emotional growth, and I recognize students' individual needs. Technology is a tool that--when used effectively--can help me meet those needs. I look forward to continuing to explore the potential technology has to enhance all students' learning experiences.
